sizezer0-skinnyjeans:

Marilyn Monroe’s thighs touched when she walked, when she sat down, her stomach sometimes rolled over her waistband, her butt jiggled when she walked, and these were her measurements:
Weight: 118-140 poundsBust: 35-37 inchesWaist: 22-23 inchesHips: 35-36 inchesBra size: 36D*
*her weight fluctuated throughout her life.
She wore dresses from sizes 6-10.
And she is still considered one of the most beautiful women.
Now, a lot of women aspire to be a size 2, not have their thighs touch, and not have any extra weight in their stomach.
Are women really doing it for themselves or society?

This is awesome

22-23 inch waist is not natural. that is TINY TINY TINY. Either this is inaccurate, or she used a corset. judging by these pictures, I’m going to say she does not have a 23” waist. Also, a size 6 back then, and a size 2 today, are not really very far off. Somewhere along the line, fashion retailers decided to tamper with clothing sizes because women were more likely to buy if the number on the tag was a small one.
She is beautiful no matter what her measurements are, as are you.
